The Difference between Siomay and Batagor 

Although often served side by side, siomay and batagor have differences. Siomay consists of steamed fish dumplings, eggs, potatoes, cabbage, tofu and bitter gourd, topped with peanut sauce, sweet soy sauce, chili sauce and lime juice. The texture of siomay is generally soft with a savory taste coming from the fish and combined with the rich peanut sauce. 

While batagor is a fried tofu meatball eaten with peanut sauce, sweet soy sauce, and lime.
