Your jeans need washing? Here’s how you do it

Considering they could pretty much fit into any style you want, it is understandable if your jeans play an important role in your wardrobe. They could be perfect for your semi-formal meeting for work, or just a casual dinner date with your partner. To make sure your jeans are always available to complete your looks, here are some tips and tricks that you could follow when washing them:

1. Check the fabric care label of your jeans

That could be your first clue on how to clean your jeans correctly. Always remember to color separate your jeans to avoid dye transfer. If your jeans are machine-washable, be sure to turn them inside-out and zip them up so they won’t get caught on any fabric.

2. Choose the gentlest wash cycle, or handwashing your jeans may be the best way

Also, remember to use the coldest water option, and add a small amount of detergent before running the water. Though it wouldn’t hurt to also handwash your jeans. Just prepare a tub with cold or warm water and add a small amount of liquid detergent too before soaking the jeans for 15-30 minutes.

3. Air dry your jeans and avoid direct sunlight

It may not be so wise to dry your jeans using a dryer. It’s best to leave them air dry by hanging them on a hanger or lay them flat. Be sure to unzip any zip and unbutton everything. Also, avoid leaving them under the sun because it could break down the dye on the fabric, causing them to fade. If they are nice and dry, wait around 1-2 days before you iron them.
